👋🏾 Hi, I’m Aramide — and I’d love to connect with you! I’m a Registered Midwife, Black Maternal Advocate, Speaker and Founder working at the intersection of maternity care, health equity, disability and lived experience. I’m the founder of The Black Maternal Advocate, where I support and advocate for Black women and families to feel heard, held and informed throughout their maternity journeys. I’m also the founder of The Mobility Midwife, supporting disabled, neurodivergent and chronically ill parents to navigate pregnancy, birth, parenthood and beyond. Alongside my advocacy work, I speak, deliver training and contribute to conversations around racial equity, inclusive maternity care, disability and patient experience. Some of the spaces my work has taken me into include: ✨ Health Equity Expert Reference Group ✨ National maternity and neonatal work ✨ Race equality engagement work ✨ Speaking and contributing to maternity conferences and events ✨ Working alongside researchers, organisations and maternity professionals ✨ Creating education and advocacy resources for families and professionals But I’m not just here to tell you what I do… I’m here to connect. 🤝🏾 If you work in maternity, healthcare, research, advocacy, disability, health equity, PPIE, education, policy or you simply have a shared passion for improving experiences for families... let’s connect.

I run What Are Friends For, where I interview people who aren’t necessarily in the social-media spotlight but are successful in their own fields, from childcare and writing to creative careers and grant-funded projects. The idea is to show that success looks different for everyone and that different paths can still lead somewhere meaningful. Alongside that, I’m also developing my own ready-to-drink cocktail brand. @whatarefriendsfour @whatarefriendsfour
