LIT Stars CIC | Children’s Publishing, Media & Literacy
I am the founder of LIT Stars CIC, a Black-led children’s publishing and literacy organisation creating platforms for young Black voices to be seen, heard and published.
LIT Stars CIC is home to Young LIT Stars, a specialist Black children’s publishing company dedicated solely to publishing books written by child and young authors.
I am also the founder of UNSUNG Online KidsZine, a Black children’s magazine written and edited by published young authors aged 7–17. UNSUNG gives young people real experience in writing, journalism and publishing while shining a spotlight on unsung Black people making an impact across the UK.
I am also the founder and organiser of the Children’s Black Book Fair UK (CBBF UK), an annual free community event celebrating Black children’s literature, young authors, reading, representation and creativity.
What I do: Children’s publishing • Young author development • Black children’s literature • Youth media • Literacy • Events • Representation • Mentoring • Community engagement • Publishing opportunities for children and young people.
I am keen to network with authors, publishers, educators, schools, libraries, businesses, sponsors, media professionals and organisations interested in supporting Black children’s literature, young talent and greater representation in publishing.
