Why I built this

He asked thousands of strangers to introduce themselves in one comment section. Thousands of them did.

They wrote out their skills, their businesses, what they’re building, in their own words, to nobody in particular.

I was genuinely inspired going through them. A whole network of people on missions, all reaching for each other, buried in a comment section where nobody can actually connect.

So I made a directory. Their own words, searchable, each card linking back to their Instagram. A better way for them to find each other.

8,124 comments read. 7,489 of them were somebody introducing what they do. The rest were shout-outs and praise.

The directory

Straight to your inbox

New people, new missions, and anything worth passing on. Occasional, not spam.

👋🏾 Hi, I’m Aramide — and I’d love to connect with you! I’m a Registered Midwife, Black Maternal Advocate, Speaker and Founder working at the intersection of maternity care, health equity, disability and lived experience. I’m the founder of The Black Maternal Advocate, where I support and advocate for Black women and families to feel heard, held and informed throughout their maternity journeys. I’m also the founder of The Mobility Midwife, supporting disabled, neurodivergent and chronically ill parents to navigate pregnancy, birth, parenthood and beyond. Alongside my advocacy work, I speak, deliver training and contribute to conversations around racial equity, inclusive maternity care, disability and patient experience. Some of the spaces my work has taken me into include: ✨ Health Equity Expert Reference Group ✨ National maternity and neonatal work ✨ Race equality engagement work ✨ Speaking and contributing to maternity conferences and events ✨ Working alongside researchers, organisations and maternity professionals ✨ Creating education and advocacy resources for families and professionals But I’m not just here to tell you what I do… I’m here to connect. 🤝🏾 If you work in maternity, healthcare, research, advocacy, disability, health equity, PPIE, education, policy or you simply have a shared passion for improving experiences for families... let’s connect.

Hey!! 👋🏾 I'm Nicole - founder of @b3_community - the specialist perinatal organisation for black and mixed heritage women and families based in Essex. I'm also the mother of 4 and a Midwife with over 15 years experience in the UK and NZ. At B3 we believe that coming together as a community, learning from each other and seeing each other as one - is the cure to loneliness, isolation and is the key to taking our power back from the maternity system. We cannot wait for them to get their act together, we have to move and move together. We will soon (early 2027) have an opportunity to bring our trusted values nationwide and are looking to work with Doulas, PN specialist, perinatal yoga instructors, midwives, AN education practitioners - basically anyone who has proficient knowledge of the perinatal journey AND a passion to reduce inequalities and elevate the experience of black families - let's talk!

I help people journal for clarity. I lead journaling sessions, have 20+ books on Amazon and sometimes… those words turn into books. 📚 Then I become the Book Coach, (sometimes the Book Midwife😅) helping experts and people with a story self-publish their 1st, 2nd, 3rd books and beyond. Basically, I help you think it, write it, publish it and leave the legacy.
